Almost exceeded

We felt lots of relief, vowed never again to leave the main path (that resolution lasted approximately a day) and headed towards the ferry at Wilhering. Just as the ferry man was about to launch us, Bas realized he’d left his glasses up on the river bank. The nice man let him launch his glasses rescue mission and there is a photo above of Bas running back onto our ferry in great athletic style. From Wilhering we were like horses on the home strait and I think may have set some speed record for the fastest time ever to Linz.

After navigating through a very busy (and not entirely bicycle friendly) main square we found the Hotel Dobling, and soaked up the wonderfully warm showers and re-lived our 78 kilometre adventure over an Indian meal in what we declared was a schnitzel/strudel free night.
